One-day vs one-month brewing course: what is the difference?

Both courses take place in working microbreweries, but they answer different questions. One helps you find out whether brewing is for you. The other is for people who already know and want depth.

The short version

The 1-Day Super Intensive Craft Beer Course (₹25,000) lets you see and do one full brew day. The 1-Month Intensive Brewing Excellence Course (₹1,25,000) is four weeks of structured learning that ends with a complete brew of your own. Both run with a maximum of 20 students in Pune, Delhi, Gurugram and Bengaluru.

The gap in price reflects a gap in depth, not quality. One tells you what brewing is. The other teaches you how to do it.

Think of the day as a guided look and the month as an apprenticeship in miniature. Neither replaces years on a brewery floor. We would not claim otherwise.

What the one-day course covers

You spend a day in a working microbrewery on professional kit. The day moves through safety, ingredients, milling and mashing with temperature and pH checks, lautering, boil and whirlpool, gravity readings, fermentation and cellar work and the difference between cleaning and sanitising (including CIP, clean in place). It ends with a guided tasting. Tasting is optional and only for those of legal drinking age in that state.

You also learn the words and numbers brewers use: OG (original gravity), FG (final gravity), ABV, IBU and colour. You leave with a certificate and a clear next step.

What the one-month course covers

The month course runs 48 contact hours, two to three hours a day, with online study alongside. The weeks move from brewing fundamentals to brewhouse operations, then fermentation and yeast management, then hands-on work and quality control. It finishes with a complete brew of your own. You get QC lab access and testing protocols, course materials, a certificate (80% attendance is required), internship recommendations and career guidance.

Meals, travel and stay are not included. Fees are not refundable, although a seat can be transferred with approval.

Who should pick which

The one-day course suits beer lovers, homebrewers who have only brewed from kits, hospitality and taproom staff or anyone weighing up a brewing career. It is a sensible low-commitment test before a bigger decision.

The month course suits homebrewers fixing recurring faults, professionals moving into brewing and anyone planning a brewery, brewpub or beer brand. If you are planning your own project, read how to start a microbrewery in India. A course is for learning. If you want support building the brewery itself, that is our separate consultancy service.

If you are not sure which group you belong to, that is a good reason to write to us before paying for either. A short conversation costs nothing and can save you the wrong choice.

A word on jobs

The month course includes internship recommendations and career guidance. We cannot guarantee a job or an internship. No course can. Read our guide to brewery internships for what to expect. For the longer path, see how a homebrewer becomes a pro.

Can you do both?

Yes. Some people do. A day first can show you whether a month is worth the money. Ask us whether anything from the day would carry over to a later month booking. We do not want to guess at that. For a wider view of all the courses, see our course chooser.

Choose by the question you are asking

It helps to name your question before you look at price.

  • Is brewing something I would enjoy as work? Try the one-day course. You see the full process, including the cleaning, which is most of the job.
  • Why do my beers keep going wrong in the same way? The month course gives you time with QC testing and fermentation management. For a lower-cost starting point, Brewing Fundamentals online covers the reasoning behind each step.
  • How would I run a brewery or brand? The month course suits this. Brewery Business Management online (3 weeks, ₹8,999) covers the business side.

None of these paths needs the other. You can take the month course without having done the day. The reverse also works.

Your next step

Open the in-person comparison page, check the city nearest you and then write to us. Tell us whether you are testing the idea or ready to commit. We will point you to the right size of course and tell you about upcoming batch dates.

Common questions

Is the one-day course enough to become a brewer?

No. It is an introduction and a way to test your interest. The month course goes much deeper.

What is the attendance rule on the one-month course?

A certificate needs 80% attendance.

Can I get a refund on the one-month course?

Fees are not refundable, but a seat can be transferred with approval.
